Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program
Are you a career-changer who wants to pursue medical school but has little or no academic background in the sciences? Are you a college undergraduate who has decided on medical school—and it’s too late to change your major? Then the Agnes Scott College post-baccalaureate pre-medical program is for you!
Our Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program is open to highly motivated men and women with successful undergraduate academic careers in non-science fields. The post-baccalaureate pre-med cohorts are a lively mix of new graduates and seasoned career professionals. We have admitted attorneys, individuals with doctorates, ordained ministers, public health professionals and several recent graduates with majors that span the social sciences and humanities.
The 12-month program—the only one offered in Georgia—features comprehensive studies in pre-medical laboratory sciences available through our undergraduate departments. The program features exceptional science and laboratory facilities and personalized attention from our professors in a challenging program that prepares you for the rigor of medical school. Our small class sizes and accessible faculty provide an enriching, stimulating curriculum in which you can take this journey with people who are experiencing the same challenges. The PBPM staff offer support services including mock interviews; SOP/essay proofreading; guest speakers; and committee letters.
We offer a linkage agreement with the Mercer University School of Medicine so that students who are Georgia residents and meet the requirements can bypass the glide year and enroll in medical school upon completion of the program.
