How often do you post new positions on your Web site?
The site is updated as vacant positions are posted or as open positions are filled.
How can I find out the salary range for a position?
Access the salary grade structure and keep in mind that we normally hire between the minimum and the midpoint of the grade.
How can I confirm that you have received my resume?
If you apply online, you will receive an automatic response when we receive your resume.
How do I know if a job I see posted is still open?
All jobs that appear on the Web site are open. They may be at different stages of the interview/hiring process, but they are still open. Job openings are not removed until they are filled.
What if I am interested in faculty positions?
The Human Resources office does not handle academic faculty appointments. Each faculty position description lists specific contact information for questions. For additional information on faculty openings, please contact the search committee chair for that position, the academic department or as listed on the Faculty Openings announcement.
How do I find out the status of my application?
Although individual positions will vary, searches take approximately 6-8 weeks to complete, so try to be patient. If you have specific questions regarding your candidacy, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you accept general resumes?
Yes; however we encourage you to apply for specific positions whenever possible. General resumes are stored and referred to hiring departments only upon request.
If I am interested in several positions, is one resume sufficient?
No. If you are applying for more than one position, it is in your best interest to submit a cover letter and resume for each position.
If I am interested in a specific position, is it okay to contact the department directly?
You will not be able to contact the department directly. All correspondence regarding open positions should go through the Office of Human Resources.
