Teaching and Scholarly Interests

Professor Levin’s research and teaching interests include ecology, evolution, behavior, and conservation. Her research is highly integrative, including themes and utilizing tools from many subfields within biology. Currently, Professor Levin’s research focuses on understanding the role of social interactions in mediating relationships between phenotype (how an animal looks) and physiology (how an animal functions). To answer her research questions, she studies the social networks of wild populations of barn swallows.
