Buttrick HallKiplinger Personal Finance has once again named Agnes Scott College a Best Value Private College among liberal arts colleges nationally.

Kiplinger says the institutions on the list combine outstanding quality with affordability.

Kiplinger’s Best Values in Private Colleges includes 100 top universities and 100 top liberal arts colleges selected from a pool of nearly 600 private institutions. The schools on the two lists were ranked according to academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for the majority of the total. Criteria included admission and retention rates, student-faculty ratio and graduation rates, as well as data on cost and financial aid.

Each year, Kiplinger’s assesses quality according to measurable standards, including the percentage of students who are admitted out of those who applied, the test scores of incoming first-year students, the ratio of students to faculty members and the four- and five-year graduation rates.

Agnes Scott was also included on U.S. News & World Report’s “Great Schools, Great Prices” list. The college was ranked No. 25 among national liberal arts colleges in U.S. News’ 2014 best value rankings.
