Alexa Wood Gaeta ’98 Named Vice President for Enrollment and Dean of Admission

Alexa Wood GaetaAgnes Scott College is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexa Wood Gaeta ’98 as the college’s new vice president for enrollment and dean of admission, effective April 1, 2017.  

First joining Agnes Scott’s Enrollment team in 2001 as assistant director of admission, Gaeta has served in numerous roles within the division, including working with domestic students from all over the country, international students, Woodruff Scholars and transfer students. Over the years she has risen to accept greater responsibilities as associate director, director, associate vice president and most recently, interim vice president.

In her new role, Gaeta will lead the Enrollment Division, which includes the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of Admission and Admission Operations. She will refine the ways we tell the SUMMIT story to a new generation of prospective students and their families. She will also oversee the implementation of cutting-edge technology and data management tools and design and open a new Welcome Center in Rebekah Scott Hall.

As a proud alumna, I have spent over 15 years promoting Agnes Scott and believe that SUMMIT truly delivers the promise of a liberal arts education re-envisioned for the 21st century,” says Gaeta. “In the last three years, there has been incredible energy and effort on campus with the launch of SUMMIT. SUMMIT is helping Agnes Scott reach new heights in enrollment, specifically bringing in the college's largest classes in school history two years in a row.”

“It is also wonderful to see this great institution recognized for our many accomplishments,” she continues. “This year alone, Agnes Scott has received the 2017 ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation and a no. 4 ranking on U.S. News and World Report’s Most Innovative Liberal Arts College list. I am very excited to have another alumna, Aimee Kahn-Foss ’08, stepping up to be our director of admission. I look forward to the challenges ahead and thank President Kiss and the Board of Trustees for this opportunity.”

A 1998 alumna, Gaeta graduated from Agnes Scott with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in business. During her time as a student, she participated in many student organizations and served as president of the Student Government Association. After graduating from Agnes Scott, she began her career at IBM as a client representative, participated in IBM’s Leadership Development Program and served on Agnes Scott’s Alumnae Board.
