For the Class of 2022 only: The Great Scott Grant
Attend ONE of the four Great Scott Open House events offered this fall (whether in-person or virtual), apply to the college and be admitted, and you will qualify for the Great Scott Grant, a $1,000 scholarship renewable for up to four years of academic study at Agnes Scott (a total grant value of $4,000). Note: High school seniors and transfer students starting in 2022 only are eligible for the grant. See FAQs below for more on qualifying requirements.

Great Scott is open to high school students, transfer students and their families. This year, there are four opportunities to attend Great Scott, two in-person and two virtual. Pick the date and type of event that works best for you by seeing the dates below.

If you are interested in an in-person event, please note that Agnes Scott College is a vaccinated and masked campus. To attend an in-person Great Scott event on Agnes Scott’s campus, you will need to be fully vaccinated (14 days after the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna, or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson) and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and personal identification at check-in. This can be the physical card or picture of the card. If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, we welcome you to instead join us for the virtual Great Scott option.

“During Great Scott, I was able to hear from SUMMIT advisors and pre-health advisors and to learn about peer and major advising. Learning about these resources made me feel confident that I would be supported, not only as a student, but also as a new adult and budding professional if I attended Agnes Scott.”

What You Need to Know About the Great Scott Grant:

The Great Scott Grant is a $1,000 scholarship renewable for up to four years of study at Agnes Scott, with a total grant amount of no more than $4,000. Prospective students who attend at least ONE of the four Great Scott events this fall, who also apply and are admitted to the college for the 2022-2023 academic year, will receive the Great Scott Grant listed on their financial aid package.
High school seniors, including international students and undocumented/DACA students, and transfer students are eligible to receive the grant as long as they attend one of the four open houses, apply and receive admission to the college for the 2022-2023 academic year.

No. High school freshmen, sophomores and juniors who attend one of the Great Scott events this fall are not eligible to receive this grant upon their eventual application or admission to Agnes Scott. This grant has been created to acknowledge the very challenging application cycle that this year’s seniors and transfer students are facing. We will continue to think of creative ways to meet the needs of our students as we know more about future application cycles. Additionally, students who decide to or who are already taking a Gap Year are not eligible for the Great Scott Grant.

Yes. Agnes Scott merit-based scholarships and need-based grants are stackable with one exception. The grant cannot be added to any full tuition, room and board scholarships. To be considered for any need-based aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and make sure it is sent to Agnes Scott by using our school code: 001542.
