Medical Sciences Accelerated Admission Requirements
Apply to join our next cohort of this in-person, 12-month program and start your advanced health sciences studies during the 2025 summer. No GRE needed to apply.

Application Deadlines
Applications are accepted for summer semester only. Below are the deadlines students to begin summer 2025*:
- Early Action Deadline: October 15, 2024
- Priority Deadline: November 15, 2024
- Regular Deadline and International Application Deadline: February 15, 2025
- Final Deadline: April 15, 2025
*Important Note: It takes approximately 2-weeks for applications to be processed and verified by the PostBacCAS. Agnes Scott will only begin processing verified applications.
Prerequisite Requirements
Completion of the following courses in-person at the undergraduate level within the last five years:
- General Biology w/laboratory (one year)
- General Chemistry w/laboratory (one year)
- Organic Chemistry w/laboratory (one year)
- General Physics w/laboratory (one year)
GPA Requirement
3.3 minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average - AND -3.3 minimum BCPM grade point average.
- Cumulative GPAs include all undergraduate coursework completed from all post-secondary institutions, whether or not a degree was received from a given institution.
Application Requirements
Applicants should only apply for one Medical Sciences master's program offered at Agnes Scott. Details below pertain to our in-person, accelerated medical sciences master's degree. Submit the materials below along with the application based on your desired term of entry for the "Master of Science in Medical Sciences - Accelerated" program in the PostbacCAS.
Online Application
Complete and submit the online application, all application materials and the application fee through the common application, PostbacCAS.
- Once verified by PostbacCAS, you will receive a confirmation from our graduate admission team. It takes approximately 2-weeks for applications to be processed and verified by PostbacCAS. Keep in mind – the sooner PostbacCAS receives all your materials, the sooner you receive your admission decision.
PostbacCAS Application Fee
- The PostbacCAS uses a two-tier processing fee structure. Visit their website for details.
- Fee waiver requests should be sent directly to PostbacCAS.
Transcripts
Submit to PostbacCAS: Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended, whether you completed a degree at that institution or not, with one showing completion of a 4-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution.
TRANSCRIPTS FROM INSTITUTIONS OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.
- If transcripts are from a non-U.S. institution, an official Evaluation of Foreign Credentials is required along with copies of transcripts.
- All applicants that attended a non-U.S. institution must be able to document their degree as being equivalent to that of a four-year bachelor’s degree awarded by an accredited United States college or university. Applicants must have their foreign credentials evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (naces.org). The evaluation must include: course by course description, documenting equivalence to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree (or the number of years toward completion and grade point average).
Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation submitted to PostbacCAS are required. Only academic or professional recommendations will be allowed. Academic recommendations are encouraged. If you have been out of school for 2+ years, professional recommendations are accepted.
Statement of Purpose
This is your chance to provide us a glimpse of who you are and why you want to be considered for this program.
- Submit a one-page, single-spaced (or two-page, double-spaced) statement to PostbacCAS that details your reason for pursuing this program at Agnes Scott.
Resume/CV
Submit a professional resume or curriculum vitae (CV) to PostbacCAS that reflects your experience. This resume can include full-time or part-time positions, internships, and/or volunteer experience.
Important Considerations
- Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis after the first deadline, so early application submission is encouraged for this competitive program.
- A review of an application will occur only after the file has been submitted and verified by PostbacCAS - incomplete files will not be reviewed.
- We recommend applicants submit their materials and application to the PostbacCAS 2-4 weeks prior to our deadline.

International Applicants
The English language proficiency requirement at Agnes Scott can be met through one of the following ways:
- Your country of origin is one of the following countries: Anguilla, Antigua/Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), the Grenadines, Guam, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica/other West Indies, Liberia, Montserrat, New Zealand, South Africa, St. Helena, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos, United Kingdom, United States
- You have earned a bachelor’s or master's degree from a U.S. institution of higher education
- You have submitted satisfactory scores as noted below for Duolingo, TOEFL or IELTS. Scores are only valid within 2 years from the test. Copies of score reports can be submitted to your application portal after application submission for application review. Official score reports should be sent by the testing organization to gradadmission@agnesscott.edu.
- Duolingo English Test (DET)- Recommended minimum score is 110
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)- Recommended minimum score is 6.5
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)- Recommended minimum score of 80
All international graduate applicants are required to submit the International Graduate Student Certification of Finances (COF) form for admission consideration. This form is needed to obtain complete and accurate information about the funds available to international applicants who want to study at Agnes Scott.

- Submit the COF form with the proper bank statements and documentation via upload to the application portal after application submission or via email to gradadmission@agnesscott.edu.
Admitted international graduate applicants might be required to submit an updated International Graduate Certification of Finances form within six months of the beginning of their first semester.
