Music Internships and Experiential Learning

Agnes Scott guarantees that every student who is interested can have an internship. Our faculty and staff not only help students find opportunities, but also help them assimilate what they learn from the experience.

For example, one student who had a double major in psychology and music participated in a program of music therapy with a board-certified music therapy practice called Allegrow! Music, Inc.

Other interns have worked at Daemon Records, a not-for-profit label run from the artists’ perspective; in administration for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra or at Southern Promotions, a rock concert promoter.

Interns also have gained experience at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS, the Grammy association), Eddie’s Attic, and BMG Records.

And, Agnes Scott’s Atlanta location means that you will have access to talented musicians who teach as artist affiliates no matter what your instrument or musical interest.

Being in Atlanta also allows you to take advantage of cross-registration opportunities at the eighteen Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education (ARCHE) schools. As a result, ASC students also play in marching bands and big bands at area universities.
