Athletics & Recreation
Whether you need a hard-core workout or want to play a sport with friends, Agnes Scott’s Athletics Department and Campus Recreation have something for everyone.
Agnes Scott is an NCAA Division-III athletics institution and has competitive varsity programs in basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Students may check out our athletics games to cheer on their fellow student-athletes in the Athletics Complex, located on the south side of our campus. You can also try out for our Scottie Cheerleading squad or the Radiant Royalettes, a majorette dance team, who can be seen performing at sports events. Beyond athletics, there are a myriad of recreational activities for students.
Go for a swim – Open swim hours are available for students who want to stay in shape with lap swimming in our Olympic-sized swimming pool located in the Woodruff Athletic Complex.
Go for a run – Agnes Scott has a standard track for running, walking, or jogging. The city of Decatur also offers lots of safe opportunities for running or walking if you’d like to get off-campus.
Yoga – Need to take a deep breath and relax? Bring your mat to the main quad where yoga is offered once a week to the entire Agnes Scott community.
Tennis anyone? – Agnes Scott has six hard surface tennis courts for your recreation. Group tennis lessons are offered once a month.
Fitness for everybody – Through an agreement with SNAP Fitness, Agnes Scott College students have access* to a full fitness center with cardio and weight machines, fitness equipment and classes right on campus. There is also a fitness room in the Alston Campus Center.
*Please note: SNAP Fitness is closed to the Agnes Scott community during peak hours (Monday - Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
All of these activities are offered to Agnes Scott students free of charge. Your ID gets you into all recreation facilities, pending availability.
