Senior Investiture
Senior Investiture is one of the college’s oldest traditions. Originating hundreds of years ago in English universities, Senior Investiture began at Agnes Scott in 1908, our third year as a four-year college.
This ceremony of investiture formally recognizes seniors as campus leaders. Beginning in 2021, Agnes Scott reimagined the traditional ceremony into a campus-wide celebration, including a parade around campus and concluding with an address by the Senior Investiture speaker. Selection as the Senior Investiture speaker is considered to be one of the highest compliments students can bestow on faculty or staff members.
